Old Dominion's win over Notre Dame is their first tournament win since 1995 first round when they defeated Villanova 89-81 in triple overtime.

Old Dominion is now 3-0 vs. current Big East schools.  They are 0-9 vs. all other schools.

Old Dominion's 51 points is the fewest they have scored in 12 tournament games.  Their previous low was 52 vs. Tulsa in the 1995 second round.  Their 50 points allowed is also the fewest that they have allowed.  Their previous low allowed was 57 against Butler in the 2007 first round.

Notre Dame loses as a #6 seed for the second time in four years.  They lost to Winthrop 74-64 in 2007 in the first round.

Notre Dame is now a tournament worst 0-5 on March 18.

Notre Dame is now a tournament worst 0-4 in overtime games.

With the loss, Notre Dame extends their tournament record of appearances without playing in a championship game at 31.

Brigham Young's win over Florida is their first tournament win since 1993 first round when they defeated Southern Methodist 80-71.

Brigham Young's win ends an 8-game tournament losing streak.  The 8-game streak is the 6th longest all-time.

Florida's loss ends a 12-game tournament winning streak.  The 12-game streak is tied for the 3rd longest all-time.

Florida is now 0-3 when they have a seed of #7 or lower.

Florida is now 0-2 in double overtime games in the tournament.  They are 3-0 in single overtime games.

Villanova is now 3-0 vs. teams from the Northeast Conference.  They tie Pittsburgh for the best record vs. the NEC.

Murray State's win over Vanderbilt is their first tournament win since 1988 first round when they defeated North Carolina State 78-75.

Murray State's win ends an 11-game tournament losing streak.  That is the longest losing streak in tournament history.

Murray State is now 2-0 on March 18.  They are 0-13 when playing on all other dates.

Vanderbilt loses as a #4 seed for the second time in three years.  They lost to Siena 83-62 in 2008 in the first round.  They are 0-2 as a #4 seed.

Vanderbilt is now 0-10 when scoring less than 70 points which ties Pepperdine for a tournament worst.

Baylor's win over Sam Houston State is their first tournament win since 1950 Elite Eight when they defeated Brigham Young 56-55.  The win ends the longest drought of any team that had previously won a tournament game.

With Baylor's win, the team that now has the longest drought since their last victory is CCNY in the 1950 National Championship game.  The longest drought of any team that is still Division I is Holy Cross.  Their last victory was over Wake Forest in the 1953 second round.

St. Mary's win over Richmond is their first since 1959 sweet sixteen when they defeated Idaho State 80-71.

St. Mary's has two wins in tournament history.  Both of them are by the score of 80-71.

Richmond is 0-3 in first round games when seeded #11 or better.  They are 4-1 in first round games when seeded #12 or worse.

Butler is 5-1 in their last 6 first round games.

Northern Iowa's win over UNLV is their first since 1990 first round when they defeated Missouri 74-71.

Ohio's win over Georgetown is their first since 1983 first round when they defeated Illinois State 51-49.

Ohio's 97 points is the most they have scored in 17 tournament games.  Their previous high was 87 vs. Western Kentucky in the 1960 regional third place game.

Ohio's 97 points is also the most that Georgetown has allowed in 70 tournament games.  Their previous high allowed was 90 vs. Texas Tech in the 1996 sweet sixteen.

Georgetown is now 0-2 vs. teams from the MAC.  Their other game against the MAC was in 1975 in the first round against Central Michigan where they lost 77-75.

Georgetown was 11-0 when seeded #6 or higher coming into this game.  Only Louisville has a better record at 14-0.

Kentucky scores 100 points for the 12th time in tournament history.  Only UCLA has scored 100 points more times with 14.

With Tennessee's win, Bruce Pearl is now the winningest coach all time at Tennessee in the NCAA Tournament with 6 wins passing Don Devoe.

San Diego State is now 0-6 all time in the NCAA Tournament.  That ties Nebraska for the 4th most tournament games without a win.  Only North Carolina A&T (9), Eastern Kentucky (7) and Louisiana-Monroe (7) have played more tournament games without a win.

Wake Forest is now a tournament best 4-0 in games that go exactly one overtime.  They are 0-1 in double overtime games however.

Texas is now 0-3 as a #8 seed which ties Indiana for the worst record all-time.

Texas is now also a tournament worst 0-3 when playing in the state of Louisiana.

New Mexico's win over Montana is their first since 1999 first round when they defeated Missouri 61-59.

New Mexico's 62 points is the fewest that Montana has allowed in 11 tournament games.  Their previous low allowed was 63 vs. Utah State in the 1975 first round.
