Georgetown makes its 5th Final Four appearance and its first since 1985.
For the first time since 1979-1980, there are two consecutive final fours without
an ACC team.
This was Georgetown's first ever overtime game in tournament history (66 games).
San Francisco now has the most tournament games without an overtime at 35.
This is the first time since 1998 that all four schools had previously won a national
championship.
North Carolina is now 2-1 vs Georgetown.
North Carolina is now 6-2 in overtime games.
Florida makes its 4th Final Four appearance and its second consecutive.
Florida is now 4-0 in the Elite Eight.
UCLA vs Florida will mark the 3rd time in tournament history that the teams from
the previous year's championship game will play each other.
The other two
were Ohio St vs Cincinnati in 1962 Championship game and Duke vs UNLV in 1991 National
Semifinals.
This is the first time since 1998 that two teams are making consecutive Final Four
appearances. Kentucky and North Carolina went in 1997 and 1998.
Florida becomes the first defending champion to advance to the Final Four since
Michigan State in 2001.
It is also the first time since 1998 that all Final Four teams are from different
conferences.
Out of teams that have been to the final four, Oregon has the longest current drought.
Their last Final Four appearance was in 1939. They have now gone 68 years
without a final four.
Oregon is now 1-4 in the Elite Eight.
