Connecticut will attempt to become the first Big East team to defeat a team from the Colonial Athletic Association.  The CAA is 3-0 vs. the Big East.

The 95 total points scored by UCLA and Memphis is the fewest combined points scored in an Elite Eight game since 1973 when UCLA defeated San Francisco 54-39 (93 total points).

UCLA's 50 points are the fewest points scored by the winning team in an Elite Eight game since 1984 when Virginia defeated Indiana 50-48.

Louisiana State's Final Four appearance is the first for the SEC since 2000 when Florida made the Final Four.

Louisiana State is now 2-0 in overtime tying Duke, New York and Vanderbilt for the most wins in overtime without a loss.

Duke has lost in the Sweet Sixteen 6 times.  With Louisiana State's win, every team that defeated Duke in the Sweet Sixteen has advanced to the Final Four.
